This was so much fun for me and my partner to play through together!
A spoiler-free review:
We both loved the sprinkling of lore and world-building throughout the game, and specifically were going "Awww!" over the utilikin designs and backstory.
The mystery was pretty well set up, and we both came up with different theories as to what was happening (and both wound up being correct!) and we felt great when our educated guesses panned out. uwu
We also loved the natural-feeling progression of events, feeling that each story beat would be a very logical follow up to the previous one!
As someone who thought drone stuff simply wasn't for them, these games and the setting you've built and the way you portray the Utilikin have really turned me around on that, and I am going to look into making a Utilikin sona to be a good drone <3
I also feel like *such* a good and smart drone for intuiting the puzzle of the forest without needing any help! ^w^
If you enjoyed Drone Cafe or Reset Day, I can't recommend this one enough!
A VERY SPOILER-Y review:
When we first started the game and read about how our character signed a consent form without knowing what it was about, we both went "Ahhh, this trope." We're familiar with the trope of someone signing a contract without reading it and whoops! part of the terms of the contract are that you get converted into a drone!
Even thought we both enjoy this trope, we felt it a little out of place considering the other two games, and so we were pleasantly surprised when that turned out *not* to be the case, and that there was even a little tutorial explanation about how if you *really* didn't want to, you could simply end the game and assume everything gets resolved!
Personally I feel very clever for talking with Xlookup about the space program and calling from the start "We're gonna be tasked with finding that data vault and breaking into it!"
We both absolutely loved all three Utilikin branches and how they had differences in the text for the scenarios, and we especially loved how SKY and IRL Utilikin have a system for their names, but CAT drones just wait for their humans to give them a name! Of course!~
Overall, an absolutely wonderful little story, and I'm so happy you made it and shared it with everyone!!! Thank you for all the work and effort you put into these!!!
