Not to the same extent as Patreon, but this is only because they're a smaller platform and thus have yet to attract the same scrutiny from Visa and Mastercard. Nonetheless, it would take a single threat from either payment processor to force Subscribestar to follow suit, and this remains true for practically every platform out there - Subscribestar isn't safe, practically nowhere is. It's a safer alternative to Patreon for the moment, but there's no telling how long things will stay that way. Even platforms like Steam and Itch.io which we tend to view as safer harbours are at risk. It's a grim set of circumstances all around.
