I made it so that the player couldn't attack or destroy anything, being completely vulnerable, forcing the player to avoid all the obstacles and threats.

61960! I found I got a consistently higher score by just holding forward to max acceleration and waiting until I ran into something, carefully dodging the asteroids and stars makes you quite vulnerable to the gravity pull of black holes and it's a lot slower. Does the game have an ending? I was curious if you can actually reach the edge of the galaxy. It's a fun twist on asteroids, loved how the visuals look once you get up to a high speed.
Yes there is an end you can reach, although the score gets bugged when that happens so it ends up lower than it should be lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
And yeah I agree that when you get up to high speeds it looks pretty cool, although going so fast does mean the game is more luck dependent than skill dependent.
I really like the interactions with the black holes. The inability to see really see what's around me when going at high speeds makes it hard to actually dodge items though. Overall, the controls are nice, but the game feels like it relys mostly on luck rather than skill.
Yeah, my main intention hadn't been for it to be so luck dependant and more about actually trying to avoid things, but with the rush of the game jam I wasnt able to refine that a ton. Maybe I'll revisit this idea at a different time and make some adjustments.

I like the game, but I think the player speed is too fast. I mostly just pressed forward and hoped for the best. Though, it did create a convincing feeling of flying a spaceship.

Yeah, the funny thing is I completely forgot to put a cap on backwards movement so it's even worse when you go in reverse lmao.
Lowering the speed cap is probably one thing I'll have to do if I want the focus to be more skill-based than full send and pray.
