No. Although itch.io doesn't make it clear You will always have all access to all the releases. Both old, current and future. 2.2 was made free however the next few builds 2.3 and 2.4 will be available to those that picked up the game.
You can also find access to the old alpha 1 versions of the game's which used an older codebase that mostly been replaced but offers some features not currently in the current alpha releases such as a mirrors, day/night+ weather system, some old challenge scenarios and reflective surfaces that will eventually make its way back when its appropriate. They can be found in the old build archive.
2.3 is due in two weeks. Before that, I will be releasing a dev test build for the new main shaders and a few other tweaks this April 2nd.
