The paid version just gives you access to old builds that, frankly, I am embarrassed by. Due to the way itch.io works you will need to clear your cache and refresh the project page for it to register you as an owner correctly.

For the old builds? Are you using the itch.io app or using the webpage? Sometimes the webpages glitches out and you need to clear your browser's cache and refresh it. The last build done during the pandemic (Alpha 2 RC) is listed under demo and is free to play. Alpha 3 will also be free to play and is due in 10 days from now.
Player accidents won't make it in 2.4 (Which is slated for New years but will more then likely be release in January). I do however intend to sneak into the planned 2.5 bugfix update in either late January or February.
2.4 is more focused on NPC interactions, new art, some minor performance fixes and updating the project to Unity 6.3 since 6.2 had some performance issues and project stability issues I didn't like.
Yes, the sprites are to be added in the redesigned alpha 3 build I am currently working on. Back during the pandemic I dropped the 16-bit era looking sprite art and the roguelike format that kinda resembled dungeon of dredmor during the now scrapped alpha 3. The short was that it proved to be too time consuming and the pandemic made my life incredibly complicated. I recently picked up the project again and did a complete code rewrite as a 3d dungeon crawler that plays like a "blobber" with a new art direction.
Honestly, I got screwed over doing so and I feared as much when I reported it but I am not in a dire financial position over it and my conscious is clear.
I do think however I am well over do for a series of game and art updates. Would be a good break from my norm and it nice nice not being tied down to a job that can take 50 or 70 hours away from my week as long as if I don't give into dread from the shitty job market.
I want to do an update at the end of the year; however, I am currently going through a nasty retaliation case with my soon-to-be former employer, since I had safety callouts that were completely ignored by the higher-ups.
Although any support is greatly appreciated by me. You do not need to buy the game to gain access to any of the major versions of the game since I am more than aware just how hard things financially are for people these days.
I am going for story and character background light. I do want there to be more character interactivity and have it tied to gameplay and work towards more kink content that players can opt in or out on. I have had just about zero coding time with my job since my employer insisted on a project that requires me to work 60 to a little south of 70 hours a week with co-workers that tend to create problems.
I do want to provide more detail on what I plan to work in the future but can't at this time because I simply do not know what is feasible as a largely solo dev with a full time job as I don't currently feel comfortably further pushing back on my work situation due to the bad US job market.
yes, life if extremely chaotic and I won't be able to meet the halloween timeframe as planned due to this project I have been stuck on these last few months. Despite my good standing within my company declining the project is a extremely bad option due to the terrible US job market and how fickle my employeer is.
I plan to expand on the characters this halloween now that I will finally have proper game dev time this October. I have been stuck out of state working the graveyard shift on a job I didn't really want after getting hit with a incredibly shitty layoff but have earned myself a good bit of time off through the ordeal.
Halloween '25 is already planned out and I have a little bit of progress on it. I am currently on a bussiness trip for another few weeks but I am freed up a good deal on October.
The economic reality for me has always been I can't work on my passion projects as much as I want but I am happy that a somehow gathered a small following and I still enjoy the tedious nature of mostly solo game dev.
Yes, in the worst case where one of my games is hit on a follow-up wave of bans I will create a list of everyone that purchased that game and create a game key for them and just have the old versions of the game marked as either a free download or give people access to the share drive of the build archives.
I would have to dig around my backup drive for the alpha 1 experimental builds which is out of the question at the moment with my job now. they might still be available to download on the soggy horror itch io page through the freely available app.
I wouldn't bother since its early alpha stuff that have mostly been improved and rewritten althrough not used currwntly in the thorn mansion map. They werent connected to gameplay at all with those builds and werent rightfully received well.
It MIGHT still be available on the itch.io app since it was listed as free sometime and uploaded with butler but the system can be iffy, so don't hold me on that.
There were several things I was unhappy about with the old system, and it was rewritten with the 2.3 alpha build I have been tinkering with when my engineering job isn't driving me insane with its usual insanity. That build will be listed as free this Halloween, so it's honestly best you wait.
That tech demo is heavily unoptimized what you want is https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ffn_LaqGpBuRh1vvAoE-qfM8XSLMDYO9/view?usp=drive...
