I need to thank you immensely, both for the kind words, and because you actually made me realize an egregious error on my end! The most recent update to the demo seems to have replaced the demo with the working alpha of the game's opening! This means that what you played is an incomplete build, rather than the complete (and error-free) demo!
This problem has been fixed! Thanks so much for playing the game and catching it. I made a devlog talking about this update in more depth, and if you download the game now, you'll find that it's completely different and has entirely different content now, haha. Thanks again, and enjoy!
