Most game jam projects don’t fail—they just don’t get finished. The biggest challenge isn’t starting, it’s keeping the scope small enough to cross the finish line. That’s what this jam is all about!

Click the image above to go to the jam page.

The 1-2-3 Rule:

✅ 1 Environment – Keep the world contained.
✅ 2 Gameplay Mechanics – Aside from movement, pick two core mechanics.
✅ 3 Challenges – Three obstacles, puzzles, or enemies stand between the player and success.

By following this simple rule, you and your team can stay focused, avoid feeling overwhelmed, and actually complete your game!

Scope small, finish strong! 💪

Ooohh, this is a really cool concept! I’m curious, though — where’s the line between movement and other mechanics? Would dodge-rolling, for example, count as a separate mechanic if it’s a very specific type of movement?

This would count as a separate mechanic to movement. I suppose dodging/rolling could be counted as one singular mechanic since they are both forms of evasion and would normally use the same button. Thank you for the question.
