I personally really enjoy top-down games with this camera style, and one day I plan to make one myself and hopefully release it commercially if everything goes well. I found the concept really fun, and the way you designed the main mechanic around hiding behind objects to reach the objective was interesting. The final attack is definitely very satisfying with all the sound effects and the tremor.

I’d say the difficulty curve feels a bit off regarding how the enemy shoots, specifically with the shotgun. It might have been intentional since the weapon is heavier and deals more damage/shots. However, the reload delay made the enemy vulnerable for too long, so maybe reducing the delay a bit or removing some objects in the way would make it more challenging.

Since this is a short game and likely one of your first, you did a great job in managing to create a beginning, middle, and end. I know for many it might seem simple, but every big journey starts with the first step, which you’ve already taken (and in a great way).

It would be interesting to have the possibility of picking up some boxes and using them as shields to face the enemy, but for that to work, we’d need to be in a situation where it takes more than one punch to defeat the enemy. In its current form, the shield box would be very unbalanced, removing any difficulty that might arise.

Your game has many possible expansions, like the shield idea I mentioned, organizing elements for stealth attacks, other mafia members trying to take us down, or even obstacles along the way like traps that deal damage or slow us down. The possibilities here are practically endless.

Overall, a short and fun game that managed to keep my attention and made reaching the end feel satisfying. Congratulations on the project, and good luck in the jam!

Thank you so much for your helpful comment! Yeah this game has a lot of possible expansions thank you for giving me some. Congratulations to you too on the gamejam!
