Something this simple really should run on even older hardware. The way the scene is now is just super inefficient, dumb scripting or too many objects or maybe the shaders suck, haven’t really investigated yet.
Apparently the spin isn’t framerate independent. Thought it was after eyeballing between 60fps and 10 and didn’t notice a difference, but going down to 2 fps the spin slowed down significantly. So yeah forgot to multiply with dt somewhere again. No wonder people have problems with the gameplay.
Yeah some kind of indicators has been proposed. I’ll consider them, but the hypno game really isn’t supposed to be very hard, if it just worked correctly. You were supposed to see the effects pretty fast in the mirror.
The headless thing is part laziness part deliberate. Tried to go for maximum immersion, and personally I find that if you can’t customize your character’s face the next best thing is no face at all. Also I absolutely hate the human faces I draw. Original plan was to show the players face after full transformation. The busty alien gal in the cover image is supposed to be the player. Might try a faceless head or something, but I kinda stand behind my original idea, shame it didn’t resonate.
Thanks for the feedback, wouldn’t have noticed the framerate dependent acceleration otherwise.
