i liked it.............
i will say, the dialogue could be better imho. some conversations kinda felt like they went in circles and dragged on way too long (naturalistic, sure, but idk it didn't land well for me). BUT!!!! the premise was really really interesting. i do kinda agree with you that it feels like a "part 1," but the ending i got gave me just enough closure to feel satisfied, so i'd say it stands on its own just fine.
