I like the game and the concept, but I feel like it's a bit unclear about some things, and generally lacks tutorials. For example, the system of "defeating humans gets you points" isn't really explained at all. I didn't realize it was even a thing at first, and when I did realize it, I thought it was always 2 per person knocked out. Now, I realize that it seems to be half of the card's cost. Also, how humans attack also isn't explained; they seem to only attack the first Zombie until they're dead, and not attack further than that. Also, things like armor and Infection aren't explained, either.

Due to the large number of humans, there isn't really a reason to use tanky zombies over cheap, weak zombies to stall rounds, due to how much damage you'd be taking making it a big waste of points. Using armored zombies might be useful, but I find that they're too expensive to justify using. Maybe that'll change in later areas, but I doubt it.

The fact that the humans don't ever increase in strength within a battle, whereas the zombies can build up over time and convert humans, makes the combat very lopsided and not super challenging or strategic, since if you can handle the humans early in a battle, you're unlikely to struggle later on. And the beginning can't be too challenging, otherwise you won't be able to get started whatsoever. Plus, the human attacking system doesn't really encourage anything beyond the simple "put out cannon-fodder" strategy.

I like the mutation system (it reminds me of Infectonator, was that the inspiration?) but I was less interested when I realized that "unique" didn't mean that each normal zombie has a specific unique mutation you get from it. I get that that might not be feasible, in terms of scope, though.

Overall, though, it's a pretty fun game. Not a strategic masterpiece, but the writing and humor make up for it. Especially, I'm sure, if you have a zombie fetish.

It's not really meant to be a very hard game. I find that difficulty can be a distraction from gooning
