I think part of the issue is that there is, in regards to how much time is spent, very little story compared to the other mechanical aspects of the game.  Not just the dream world, but all the walking and everything throughout the day.  I've spent at least 20 hours in game, and only 1, no more than 2 was spent in dialogue.  There's so much to do, and when you talk, it's only for short little bits.  I certainly enjoy what's there but to compare the game to a dish, it's a garnish to the meal.  I played the other game, the coffee extra one, and that felt more 50/50, maybe even 75/25 story to gameplay.  This very much feels closer to 10/90.

The only reason you aren't seeing much discussion about the story is because there, relative to the puzzles, is little to discuss
