The Families are the story, and MC doesn't know the background. That is the structure all our happy scenes revolve around. And lack of choice means faster updates (same a blue/red silhouette NPCs). Take all games for their niche.
agreed, also, i expect that Cosy will only upgrade the blue/red NPC’s when the game is finished, if it’s done at all
