For anyone attempting to export their browser save to steam this is what I got to work:
1. Export save from browser demo version.
2. Open Steam version, skip tutorial, and export the beginning save.
3. Find the folder location for your steam save and open the text document with the beginning save.
4. Select all and delete the contents of the file.
5. Find the browser demo save and open the text file; copy and paste the text over to the empty steam beginner save.
6. Press File and then Save the newly filled text document.
7. Import the save into steam.
Hope that makes sense for anyone running into the same problem as I was.
