Really good game! This is an interesting deck-building game. As promised, here are my thoughts on the game:
- Solid gameplay loop. The instructions were clear. The card types and what they do is also not that complicated to understand. I could see potential in this concept to be even bigger in scale, with time and more effort.
- The best part of the game is the gameplay. The simplicity in the mechanics, the snapping of the cards, and luck are all important elements of this game. I enjoyed most of the gameplay. I'd recommend adding difficulty, as it is extremely rewarding, and not that much punishing. Getting the "eye" just makes it too easy.
- I don't exactly know what "syringe" does. It felt more complicated compared to the other buffs.
- Just from the perspective of the game jam, I would recommending adding more chaos, as it would suit the theme of the jam better. Personally for this game, it is not necessary. But because this is a gamejam, and because of the rules, I recommend adding more things in the game to make it more suited to the theme, just for the gamejam build.
- What the game lacked are quality of life improvements in my opinion. The buttons could be animated just like the cards on hovering over them (mostly because they look alike). I would also recommend adding a sound effect when playing the hover animation. This makes the whole experience more satisfying. I would have loved to hear more sheep, animal sounds, wolf sounds, when the cards are played.
- I would also recommend adding more visual elements like sheep, or animals in the background, and let them graze on the field a little bit. As long it doesn't get too distracting from the core gameplay, I think it would be a good addition.
Overall, this was a fun little experience. I loved the gameplay and I believe it has great potential to become something even bigger provided more time. Good job!
Oh by the way, here is the silly little game I made. I would love for you to play it and give feedback! Thanks!
