My first thought was witchy kind of solstice festival vibes, but then I thought about sci fi. Thinking of a ticking time bomb a la the parasites in Baldur’s Gate 3.
That is cool. Why not do both? The mayor has a blood worm that will take over their body at the end of the festival. You have time to stop it, but not too much.
