How do I access my save data from a previous version in the latest version? or is there no way to?

You just need to move your save folder from the older version of the game into the folder for the new version of the game. I'm not exactly sure where the game folder would be if you downloaded through the Itch.io app, but the filepath to find the save folder should look similar to this "CiC_0.51.4 Windows\www\save" (If you are on Windows.)
