Zahara seems broken

Hello! I downloaded this game last week and have been messing with it, just wanted to report on a possible glitch I might have found.


I'm not sure if this was already reported or not,I looked through the community page and didn't see anything on it. I got the endo heart from the shop and have been using it to befriend ghosts, however I noticed that Zahara seems unable to be befriended.

With the endo heart you have to simply wait with no input in a ghost's gut and eventually you stop taking damage and can struggle out and befriend them. I know that's not the case with every ghost, like with the cactus ghost you continue to take damage even if you're in a befriend state if you wait for long enough. However with a ghost like Zahara, if you wait with no input for even a couple of seconds it puts you in a game over scenario. She assumes you like her and you cannot struggle out anymore, meaning you can't befriend her.

In addition, her dialogue seems a little glitched. She doesn't have any 'absorbed' dialogue, and if you wait until you are absorbed the text box she had on screen after deciding to keep you will remain. Progressing it past that point puts you into the game over screen, however it also cuts her off. For me, she was in the middle of saying something when the game over screen cut her off and I never got to see what she was saying.

I'm not sure if that's intentional or not but it seems like a small glitch. Just making devs aware!

These issues are known and was an oversight from modifying damage values.
The damage was increased, but the "love_value_until_defeat" wasn't changed.

The intended values are as follows:
"love_value": 240
"love_value_until_defeat": 1000

Zahra also doesn't quite behave normally with 'absorbed' dialogue, because she doesn't actually have any absorbed dialogue.

I did some testing and I couldn't replicate the interrupted dialogue.

It's fixed for next update, it seems.

Three questions;

1. Are we getting extra player characters in G&J?

2. How are you supposed to get a game over against Zahara in the first place? Yeah, debt sucks, but it's not fatal.

3. Will Japes and the other heroes in Charcuterie be able to eat enemies?

I just started a new game after freshly getting out of the temple, too.

I'll see if I can get a screenshot next time I see her showing what I mean. The best way I can describe it is that every ghost seems to have dialogue after your HP reaches zero, but it only goes to a certain point where progressing it any further results in an early game over screen with no 'absorbed' dialogue.


After messing with it a few times,I found the point where the game over screen comes at the end of Zahara's scripted dialogue, but in my case that last message remains even after you're absorbed. Which makes sense, since you said that she doesn't have any 'absorbed' dialogue, however when I went past that point she started to say something else (I heard the little 'text is being added chatter noise') but it gets interrupted by the game over screen. Hopefully that helps?
