A nice take on the genre, it just feels a bit strange that the hits for the 1st ability don't always register. Like it feels like it should, but it doesn't. In both forms. But at the same time I understand the "need" for it to fail sometimes.

In video games, the player often has these sort of "Coyote time" effects. For example, you can often jump off of a ledge even if you're well off the ledge, or the enemy hitboxes are larger than them and your hitbox is smaller than you. These are implemented to make the game easier and have a 'close call' feeling way more often which creates more excitement and feeling of mastery. Naturally it makes sense to implement that for the player character in this game.

I am pretty sure the hitbox only registers in the mace itself giving plenty of room for missing the ability, but even if that is not the case I did noticed how inconsistent pressing 1 tends to be. If not intentional it should at least have a visual update so those should-hits look more like no-hits

I switched to using only 2 and 3 looking to cheese hero making them dodge towards the walls where I can consistently get hits with 2, which tbh felt really boss like of my part to be unfair like that.
