I did get a chance to play it after installing it on an old device. As someone who has spent countless hours playing your 2020 version over the years, here are my thoughts:
- My biggest complaint is that the cubes seem heaver in this version. They do not travel as fast, slide as far, or bounce as much. This means that the game seems to take longer, it is nearly impossible to pull off fancy trick shots, and it is just over all less fun/satisfying.
- I do miss the more "plain" environment. The whole nature scenery you added is a nice touch, but I am a boring person.
- Just like with the last version, I think the abilities are too expensive. Perhaps it is by design, but I think it should not take that long to purchase a bomb.
- I assume you are already planning on it, but implementing the other two abilities in this version would be nice. Perhaps even more abilities, such as temporarily modifying things like gravity, friction, bounciness, magnetism, repulsion, etc.
- I would appreciate a setting to allow me to disable sounds
- After a throw, the next cube will appear in the center of the throw platform. But oftentimes, the next cube will appear toward one side of the throw platform instead. I think this is a bug. I prefer to always start from the center.
- I cannot seem to rotate the screen at all. I liked that the old version could be rotated even 180 degrees.
Keep in mind that I might just prefer the old version of how some of these things worked simply because I am used to it.
But as for things that I do like about this version:
- The fact that the bomb also does something like send a shockwave that pushes blocks instead of just dissolving everything is neat. I do think that I prefer this bomb.
- The visual countdown on a cube when it crosses the boundary is a useful indicator. Though it does continue to count down even when I manage to push it back within the boundary, which I assume is not the intent.
- Various particular bugs no longer exist, which is nice
