Hey Dude! Good to hear from you. Yeah, this update is... not my favorite although for a variety of reasons. In retrospect, I added a lot of optional goodies for Brooke but didn't really advance her story much and put almost all the story advancement on Jasmine. I expect this update will be panned by some because a) no significant Meredith content, b) only 30-45 minutes of gameplay for how long it took to finally get this thing out, and c) no significant Meredith content (:P). I'm not too bothered by a lack of Merdith. For a game setting like this it can be difficult to really measure... how far you need to go and what the end is going to look like based on your actions. Especially considering the number of characters introduced so far and the potential routes to take into account. I'm quite happy to see Jasmine get some love though it does make me wonder what it's going to take for the protagonist to drop his guard with Nichole. Though the toughest thing I think aside from bug fixes and the like, is figuring out how to handle the branching choices by the end of it. I do like how it is expanding so far. I'm glad it is still getting support with more to come this year I am sure. I just hope nothing completely blindsides the project.
I'm trying to avoid having a lot of branches open up to keep the complexity down. Aunt Charlotte's effect on Brooke's schedule made keeping track of Brooke and Jasmine way more complex than it needs to and I'm considering decoupling Aunt Charlotte from Meredith's story to reduce the complexity and keep things manageable. The Hint journal as a result is kind of lacking in telling you where you might find them so I suspect a lot of players will be trial-and-erroring the rest button to try and figure out when Brooke and Jasmine will be at Jasmine's house at the same time or when to find Brooke alone in her room. As far as the project getting blindsided, the only thing I can think of is some sort of major health scare or running up against some unforeseen limitation in either Unity or Adventure Creator. I've been working on this game (in one form or another) and it still brings me great joy to make it. The fact that other people like it too is a bonus.
