ah i wasn't around for when dial-up internet was used but i definitely agree with the sentiment that most social media platforms and many parts of the internet as a whole seem like they've shifted their focus from being places to find communities to what is essentially a competition to see who can achieve the highest numbers/engagement/etc.... compared to even 5 years ago it's a bit scary to see how much of it is now just bots/AI, and it's very easy to start 'doomscrolling' !!! but i think you're right in how itch.io seems more welcoming than most platforms, perhaps because the target audience is a bit different or at least more specific...? it's much less daunting knowing that what someone posts will likely only be seen by people who share the same interests ! it seems like you've also fostered a very kind and respectful community in general; it doesn't feel as intimidating or cliquey(?) as some others might be . ^_^

ohh i see ! it sounds like it must have been a very difficult and strenuous experience growing up. of course i can't fully relate to your situation, but i know how mentally taxing being outcast from your peers is, especially during such a time when your brain and emotions are still developing/maturing. it's really amazing you were able to find solace online ! ! also yes HAHA i remember when i was growing up too a lot of people didn't know about korea. i think it wasn't until 'gangnam style' and bts was formed that people started to take more of an interest in our culture LOL;; i'm also very happy for you being able to connect with your heritage a bit more when you entered college!! i don't think being unable to speak a language or being disconnected from their culture makes someone outside or any 'less' of their ethnicity than someone who had the resources or privilege to do so. it just means they had a different background/situation, but in the end we are all the same ^^

i hope for you to be able to wake up and find a reason to smile each day too. thank you for taking so much time to talk to me ;; i was really shy to post and went back and forth on it for a couple hours but at the end i'm happy that i managed it! i hope your days in the future are gentle and kind to you and your loved ones, and that your 2025 is very very auspicious ! ! !

Hi sparkqi,

I'm so glad that you decided to post. I'm a pretty shy person irl too, and it takes me while to safe in opening up in a deep and meaningful way. For that reason, it's a easier to communicate through stories, art and games. Also alot ideas I get excited to talk about can be kind of niche and dense in nature, so it's not often I can find people irl who would want to spend the time to discuss such things. Hmm, it probably shows since I'm also terrible at writing/creating short stories/short games ect. I appreciate the time you spent playing this, LOL. And yes thank you! Even when I have a hard time in life, it passes and every day I enjoy something. I love my morning coffee and afternoon tea. (That's why I chose the name Coffeedripstudios, I'm a caffeine addict XD;;;) It's been a few days, so are you still excited about waking up and exploring your art and music? For me, inspiration can go in and out like a tide so I remember these kind of exchanges and think of them often. I hope its okay, but I printed your artwork and added it to the wall on my office because it also brings me joy every day greeted by lovely artworks when I punch in my timecard. Thank you so much again and best wishes~!

hello !! i like how you write each reply as if it's a letter, it feels like writing to a 'pen pal' LOL it's comforting!!

that's very very understandable !!! i feel it's difficult to find others irl who share common interests that are deeper than a surface level 'i like <broad subject>,' and it can be a bit awkward and discouraging to talk about or even broach the topic of your passions to an audience that you can tell isn't particularly interested ;;;; in turn , i appreciate the time you spent making this (along with all your other projects) !! the effort and care you put into your work is abundantly clear and i had so much fun playing. i actually started a new play-through because i want to see what happens if i side with the royals rather than ashur and co .!! the world you have created is so interesting and i want to explore it while i'm still on break HAHA

i'm really glad to hear (read..!?) that there is a constant in your life that can bring you happiness ^_^ i love tea too!! also yes i still feel exciting !! i'm having lots of fun revisiting my hobbies, and really hoping my next semester won't be too difficult so i can still make a bit of time to do the things i enjoy. i think deita's design is very charming and find myself doodling her in my downtime ... and omg !>?!??!?! ㅠㅠ it is an honor... i hope lor spreads holly jolly christmas cheer to your workplace every day ....

Hi sparkqi,

I have a lot of fun drawing and animating Deita's hair. My copy editor says all the lines in her curls looks like work to draw but I sort of just zone out like when I used to doodle abstract shapes during class lectures. LOL. it's kind of relaxing. Did you know that doodling helps memory and concentration? I used to get in trouble in class growing up, so I hope that's not the case anymore and that more teachers are aware of the science backing up pro-doodling habits!

Now that you mention it, I'm curious to know what major route players will choose first (Olds Ones or Crown) and if that will have an influence on their understanding or sympathy with certain characters, as I think some players who played Villains Heart before the main ADW can also have an influence on the players interpretation of events in ADW.

Can I ask you what made you decide to side with Ashur and friends?

Can I also ask if you decided to romance bond any of the character/s or if you will choose a different romance route on a second play through?

Tyvm and I hope you enjoy your break! <3

oh yes i learned briefly about that in a psychology class i took ! i used to get in trouble for it on occasion, but after entering high school and college the teachers stopped caring about it as much. i guess as long as it seems you aren't struggling in the class they don't mind...!? deita's hair is so pretty yes!! her white bangs as well make her design very distinctive and fun ^_^

i'm sure that the royal side has its reasons and motivations for acting the way that it does (and i'm excited to find out !), but unfortunately i did not feel particularly inclined to support them after they threw us into the dungeon , put the lives of innocents at brookhaven at risk during the first battle, and tried kidnapping us LOL;;;; i will never forget jeth killing those poor animals during the kidnapping

please correct me if i'm wrong but , my understanding of the old ones' side is that they just want to live their lives with their friends and the consequences would be so far into the future nobody for generations would even be affected ... i don't think anyone deserves to suffer for simply wanting to live, so it wasn't even a debate in my mind

ashur is also extremely soggy and that won me over LOL i love characters that are a bit of a loser... also EVE ! ! ! she is so cute and i'm truly devastated i couldn't romance her even if the age gap would be diabolical 💔 the next best option was supporting her in war so naturally i did what i had to do

i romanced beisel (nobody is surprised) in my play-through ! ! ! ! for the play-through i'm doing right now, i'm not sure .... all of the cast is so likeable (and at least a little pathetic .... very important characteristic to me LOL ....) that i might just go for whoever's materials i get first to make the pendant haha

thank you !! i hope you enjoy the rest of this weekend ^^ ! !
