With what you have to do to get to the 4th follower this game does not deserve 'idle' in the title that kind of quick reaction junk does not belong in a game calling itself idle anything
single phase boosts apply to fertility. just boost the phase's production by as much as possible and use as many of your fertility gaining actions and it's *really* easy so I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.
