Alright, so I just want to say that I absolutely love this game! Even outside of the sex scenes, which are some of the best written I've ever seen, I adore how unique and creative this story and universe is! It did also help awaken quite a few kinks I didn't know I had, lol. I'm not even nessicarialy into bad-ends, but I just kept coming back to the game to see how much more I could find!
However, there is also one major aspect of the game I do also believe is important to bring up, and that's it's missed opportunity for some major aspects of the story. What do I mean by this? Well, let me set the stage. (Disclaimer: I've only played the public demo of the game, so it's entirely possible that the patreon version has a lot of stuff I'm missing. I plan on paying for it and playing through it the second I have the money to do so.) Our character that we play as, who I am just going to call Ren because I think it's cute, has basically lived his entire life treated like he's only worth how well he can use his mouth and ass, but even then, you can't really blame him due to the fact that he literally grew up in a world where your value is measured by how well you can fight. I would try to pull some extra strings as well just to survive. One day, for reasons entirely out of Ren's control, he gets banished and forced to essentially serve as a distraction for his people's enemy because they are too scared to fight back themselves. Now he's left with no choice but to wander around the universe and, sometimes literally, get fucked to death over and over again because everyone in the universe hates him for basically no reason. The people that are suffering because of what his people did a millennia ago with the planet buster, which is not his fault in the slightest something he explicitly points out in the bar bad ending scene when he gets drunk and calls everyone out on it, people who don't even know about those events target him just because he's weak, and even his own ship bullies him just because it knows he won't do anything about it. You could very easily make the argument that he enjoys all of this, and I would believe you... if not for the fact that in just about every instance he explicitly states that he regrets his decisions that got him here, because the thing is, WE force him into the situations, because we are able to enjoy watching these events unfold from the safety from behind our screens. Granted, it's not 100% terrible. He does manage to make some friends through Miles and Natalie (I really hope I managed to remember how to spell her name right), but I would like to remind you that they don't initially join him just because they like him. They do it because he can give them something they need. Miles needs new ingredients for his chemicals, and Natalie needs a husband to keep pumping babies into her. While yes, they do seem to genuinely like him, do you think they still would if he could no longer provide them either of those things for whatever reason? Now, just do me a favor, remove the horny vision, and imagine if you are put in this situation. You've been betrayed by your own people for incredibly petty reasons, and they didn't even bother to give you a proper ship, and everywhere you go, everything just wants to either kill you, fuck you, or both. Every time this happens, that's not even the end, and you're forced to go through it again in a different way in a new body for seemingly the rest of time. Wouldn't you be frustrated? Depressed? Angry? Frankly, I know I would be. I would want to do something about it. So what if Ren did? I have no idea if the developer has any ideas for a official good ending, but I have two ideas that could potentially work. One would be where Ren manages to find this big bad, and utilizing the tools and allies he's gathered on his journey, manages to actually take him down. He manages to return home seen as a hero by his people, and actually manages to live out the rest of his life in peace. That's what I call the boring good ending! What if instead of your standard doomed hero manages to come out on top, he instead let's the anger consume him? It's not hard to imagine him building some resentment towards his home for several reasons. Mainly the betrayal, but also the fact that, through his explorations, he gets to see just how terrible they are through the perspective of those that have suffered by their hands. Even if their military is considered one of the strongest, this is only because of how secluded they are and how they crippled most of the rest of the galaxy. So, what if he played this to his advantage? What if he devised a plan to not only get revenge, but to avenge everyone else that has suffered because of them? We know that, even if he is still weak, he is still capable of winning fights, which we see when he explores The Tear. Friendly reminder that he manages to win against the Lord of Demons in there, even if it was technically by a fluke. There is also the instance of him matching professional heavy weight wrestlers with just a strength booster. So he has the potential skill and tools, what about a army? I direct you to the futa brothel owner (whose name I cannot remember as of writing this). It's obvious she has extensive military training and experience, and that she definitely has a vendetta against Ren, and by proxy his people. I would imagine he would talk to her to try to convince her to essentially act as a general and gather up other bitter soldiers with nothing left to lose that would be more than happy to at least put a dent in their name. If you wanted to get really nutty with it, maybe even straight up announces his plan to the entire planet, causing hundreds to rise up and follow his lead. That obviously wouldn't be enough however. They would need some way to even reach the surface of the planet. Well, what about Dionysus? Her entire thing is making sure her people live out all their lives in simple, dumb, horny peace. Having an entire planet of professional soldiers that could threaten that peace probably wouldn't be that good. Ren could use this as a way to convince her to at the very least give them the tools necessary to match his people's weaponry. Natalie could even use her mechanical expertise to help design and fix up plenty of old ships. Miles could even use his expertise in body enhancing chemicals to essentially create super soldiers that can outmatch a literal planet of them. Then there's the potential of the big bad himself that is targeting Ren because of something his grandfather did (at least I think that's how it happens, it's been awhile since I read the intro, lol). What if Ren even included him in the fight? You're telling me that wouldn't be a amazing twist? Ren basically becoming the villain of the story by recruiting his people's greatest enemy in his revolution? Maybe even when all of it is over, Ren chooses to let him become the new leader of the planet, because his goal was never conquest, it was to get the message across that he's done being pushed around. Hell, we could even get this massive dramatic moment of Ren killing the general that banished him in the first place in front of everyone, showing that you should never underestimate someone who's "weak".
Or I'm reading way to deeply into a piece of smut that literally exists solely as something for you to masturbate to! Either way, I hope you enjoyed that yap fest, and if the developer happens to read this, please keep making hot stories like this, and I hope you at least got some level of inspiration for my autism spiking, lol. Hope you have a great day or night!
