That option for Lin does indeed appear in the kitchen, but you need to unlock it in her story first. But it should have unlocked prior to level 39. I can only think that you declined the option to do anything with her when the event occurred, so it became locked for you. Perhaps you chose to call her Kali when she was doing the dishes?
