I recommend taking a look at PirateSoftware's video on the whole Godot drama, it actually brought to attention a lot what actually happened.

That recommendation matured like milk, I can tell you that much. If we consider how ‘the internet’ regard PR these days. I don’t think he deserves ALL of the the hate, but he’s pretty full of himself, that much is clear.
