Unfortunately we don't have a Mac ourselves, we usually sent the version to some friends who tested it. There it mostly ran error-free.Were you able to fix the problem somehow?
I'm on Catalina and also can't open the game. Same error message. I'm a dev myself, if there's any diagnostic info I can get for you I'm happy to help!
