Sadly, i cant seem to play this because my Windows 8.1 PC doesn't support DirectX 12, only DirectX 11.1

Womp womp.

Otherwise, game looks absolutely awesome!

brother why are you still using a windows 8 pc in 2024 :0

Not much else i can do on a 2008 Dell Inspiron with only 1.8ghz of processing power.

:/

Linux is always an option, specially for older hardware. You keep getting security and driver updates, so instead of a software issue, the worst that can happen is a hardware bottleneck.

if your laptop is ~5 years older than my 1st laptop, it's likely your GPU is pre-Kepler series. https://endoflife.date/nvidia-gpu states Professional & Consumer Kepler GPUs security support ended around Sept 2024.

if your laptop is 2008, then based on the endoflife website i provided, your GPU is likely from the Tesla(Consumer) series, whose Active Support and Security Support ended in ~2016.

As Azure Lights says, linux is always a possibility. But even that has limits. Using my 1st laptop as example, it uses Linux Mint, but the distro maintainers are also constrained by what Nvidia does. Nvidia released 470.256 as the final driver version meant for Kepler series GPUs, which the linux distro maintainer *then* has to integrate for Linux Mint.

note: I don't play games anymore with this 1st laptop, I am just illustrating that the hardware is just really old and no longer supported.

We're developing our games in Unity and unfortunately, it no longer supports building games for Win 8.
