I'll have to look at the book and see if it consistently says 5. It's been awhile since I've looked at this rule set. If it says 5 over and over again go with the book, and I'll try and make an updated version of the character sheet on Monday.

It would be cool to do more with this game. I did have plans for a psycho ranges inspired supplement that would also add elemental themed auras. 

If you've got ideas for expansions though, I encourage you to create them and publish them.

Sorry this took so long to fix, I'm about to push an update with a new version of the rule book cause I realised it is meant to be Success on 6's.
