Hi damien—I'm seeing this comment a year late, apologies! While the game isn't designed to be played solo I've tried it and I think it can work, especially if it's played like a journaling or fiction-writing game. The features and norms can be generated solo, and if you feel like you're missing some of the unexpected answers that come from other players, you can use a book or Wikipedia as a randomizer. The dice work decently in a solo game because they map to narrative results, so you can choose which results feel best suited to each character's personality. Please do let me know if you try it! We've been playing around with a solo variant but haven't made enough progress yet to promise it. :)
