Im playing the new version, however, even if the new version can read my old savefile, the pensieve has all the previous scenes locked. Is this by design or just an error?
I would advise you to start a new game. Apparently, you played a very long time ago. The save data format has changed at some point, but that was quite a while ago. All new versions support previous ones up to version 0.2.
