I will preface this by saying that I am not normally a puzzle-game person. I had so much fun playing this game and the amount of polish, juice and thought put into it is just fantastic. Some quick highlights for me:
- The cave-painting style UI
- The player abiltiies cracking and falling off the wall as the relevant ruby is aquired
- The glyphs lighting up as rubies are aquired
- The sound design
- Music, while short is a perfect accompaniment
- Ruby sound effects are so satisying, especially when collectig multiple in quick succession
- The visuals
- Love the design of the slime + how it degrades with each ruby
- The randomly-generated vines + how they move along with the slime
- You had some great brain-teasers for levels, a few I really had to go away and change how I thought about the mechanics, or try to focus on collecting the rubies in different sequences to succeed
Overall this is a fantastic game jam submission. Absolutely incredible work by both of you, definitely somethng to be proud of!
