DISCLAIMER

Me and bg's situations are somewhat different, but i can essentially match them.

- I have a mac, he has windows,

- He has a 60hz monitor, so the fps count in his game is capped at 60, mine is 120hz, but i can change it to 60 by playing on built in screen.

Alr since ppl are (respectfully) hating on me for saying Alienware is bad, here are some points I would like to make

1. Intel processer. They’re not bad processors, but amd makes just straight up make better processors, for the same, or even lover price. Buying something like an amd ryzen 7 7800x3d would be a good investment at this price point, since it can pair really well with other graphic cards at this price point.

2. Airflow. The one bg got (r16) has some of the worst airflow I’ve seen In a pc so far. The fans are doing almost nothing due to where they’re placed, and the fans themselves aren’t great for cooling anyways. Although, bg might not be experiencing this problem because of my next point

3. Dell is intentionally decreasing the power of its parts. They know about the airflow problems, and they know their focus audience is people who don’t know much abt the pc world. They intentionally stop some of the powerful parts from functioning as well, since they know a casual audience won’t know the difference. Since dell is doing this, bg can’t get a very consistent 60 fps. In his video, when he booted up a new map, his fps dipped a little, stayed consistent with only a few fluctuations. For comparison, my m2 MacBook Air, a productivity laptop that isn’t even built for gaming, can run the game at a smooth 120 fps all the way through for 700$ at Costco. Alienware pcs have good parts, but dell limits them to not match their full capabilities. Why are they doing this? So they can increase the price artificially with good looking, but not well functioning parts like an rtx 40 series graphics card.

4. Customizability, repairability. Alienware pcs, this one included are notorious for being unmoddable, and impossible to repair. The main problem with this, is that as time goes on, you can’t replace parts like you can with a normal pc. You’re stuck with the parts that are included with them. Other custom pcs, can have stuff like ram, gpu, cpu, fans, and motherboards replaced as time goes on and parts become outdated, which actually saves more money in the long term. Alienwares aren’t able to do this. You’re forced to buy a new pc anytime one single part becomes outdated, and makes the rest of the system suffer. Again, dell tries to cater to a casual audience who doesn’t know this, and assumes you have to replace an entire pc, like they would have to do  a phone or laptop.

5. β€œ... i dont think u have done enough reserch about aleinware pcs”

- Krank

oh boy, I have done a lot of research, I was at school when that post was made and I watched the video. I have a friend who is paid, to build pcs for other people. I showed him the specs of the pc, and he visibly felt despair. He told me, that the only redeemable part abt this pc, is the ram, the card to some extent, and the case, but barely. Everything else is horrible. The fans, motherboard, gpu, cpu, airflow, and everything else not mentioned before. I have had 9 different opinions by pc builders, and all said the same thing. After I told them that dell is lowering the performance of all the pcs, they said that they would pay maximum 700$ for the pc. They said for the same 1500$ for a pc, they could create a list of items that would easily reach 144 fps, 1080p, and 60-120 fps 1440p. It’s easy to see, that the research I did in person, and the online searching that I didn’t mention, shows enough for me to say that Alienware isn’t worth it.

So ur happy with an old 1900 laptop as long as it turn on, and somehow can run n1? so ur happy with playing n1 on a 4 inch touchscreen? so ur happy with running the game at 2 FPS? They all work don't they? Sure, if the pc could run a consistent 60 fps no matter what happens in the game, then id agree. but bgs pc doesnt. in larger maps such as fields, the fps randomly drops to abt 50-60. I know from experience that a large 22 player m8m6 lobby in jungles, and ??? will lag that pc to 45 fps at best. For comparison again, that size lobbies, when im at stable 120, i drop to 75, which is a lot worse than consistent 60, because its choppy, and not smooth. There is a difference between having something work, and having something be good. Alienwares work, but they're not good, and they're especially not good for the price that they're placed at.

7. "also a pc’s a pc so shudap"

Alright, the reason ur complaining is because of keyboard and mouse, not pc. I know u play on iPad, and not pc (and ur still better than all of us) but realistically, u can buy a decent bluetooth mouse, and keyboard, for less than 50$, and set them up to n1, and just play that way. It essentially is what ur calling "pc." In some ways, doing this is, in some ways, actually better than a pc since u can transport this a lot easier. If u do this, the only slight advantage pc players have, is a larger screen, and power to some extent. In general, investing 50-60$ on a non-phone, bluetooth device that can run n1 well can essentially emulate n1.

Thank you for making me do my English homework (reading a article of my choice)

But aside from that, I normally have 120 fps, but when I rec it lowers to 60, because (I guess) it uses memory or something.

English homework is crazyy πŸ’€πŸ’€β˜ οΈ

I know! XD what a coΓ―ncidence

ye it does, but it should not drop to a consistent 60. btw alienware IS bad. everyone in the pc community knows damn well

(-1)

I really didn’t made a good choice, did I ? ;\

sadly, no. When the thing inevitably becomes outdated, try to build a custom

doesn't everyone know aleinware is garbage
