I don't have the previous color to compare, but it feels like it's even worse?
I think you should use a color from the opposite spectrum for contrast. Alternatively, at least dark text on light background, or light text on dark background.

You mighty have an extension on your browser changing the colors?
It looks pretty clear to me and others even while using other devices.
