there is a walk-through document linked to the original post. It describes the solutions to all the beacon challenges.
I am looking at the PDF and all it says
"Proceed to the Beacon of Elements and solve the Challenge (use the exotic Ores you loaded, Galaxite can be obtained at the Elemental Fields, Solution: Boron, Promethium, Infernium, Morganium, Halidium, Chtonium, Galaxite). It is recommended you load up on some Chtonium in the Fields as well, you need at least 3 later"
It does not say how I use the ores.
The sequence in which the elements are listed is the sequence to use them in the terminal within the beacon tower control room.

If you got stuck at activating the beacon tower remember the start of the game. Use your wrench on the terminal button. :)
