I am so glad you enjoyed it!! LOL is calling Ashton "Solid" a Metal Gear reference? I love that!! If you mean Red Ashton then yes he gets a much better ending than the one I had planned. Honestly all the love and fan art I saw of him on twitter and tumblr saved him, I didn't expect for people to like him so much!!
And I also intended for Kadsey to be a little disliked but for a good reason at least. Thank you, I'm glad you like his design, drawing his hair is always a nightmare LOL!
I'm surprised my game has a small following, I get excited with every piece of art or theory I see!! I see the most stuff on tumbr.
And yes, I personally think Ashton and Kadsey would get together if it weren't for the Tester, they match very well and it would have been a matter of time before Kadsey tells Ashton he he felt , and since they've already been friends for so long Ash would accept him. I kinda do feel bad for Red Ashton and Kadsey because they kinda get the short end of the stick overall, but I imagine in the far (faarr) future they might end up liking each other.

I'm sorry, it is tragic that Tester gets in the way of Kadsey's relationship, it's just something to deal with (which is another reason why Red Ashton has better ending~) However I am very happy to read (or write) fanfictions where Ash and Kads are happily together!
But those are really good questions!! It may sound strange since I'm the one who made it but there are some things I just didn't think about or might not make sense because most of the story was thought up AFTER the first game was finished!
So the story in my mind is that when Ashton finds out he and his would aren't real (and that the person who created him did so after a weird yandere golfball) he was beyond upset and going through a kind of crisis. I don't remember if I wrote it anywhere but he started to really isolate himself from his friends, seeing them as just game characters. Then in his darkest moment he not only connects to the player's computer but is able to hack into their private files and kind of get to know them. I wanted it to be vague and depend on the person as to what Ash sees in them (hence why he calls them talented because that could be for anything), but the biggest reason is that yes the Tester is real.
I'm sure I said this SOMEWHERE but at first Ashton saw the tester as a prize to be won, since he's always felt like a loser and very self conscious of himself, and the tester was the one thing he could win, but then after the date he starts to realize he really wants to be with tester somehow. If that makes sense.
But if Tester plays after Kadsey had confessed to Ashton?! And assuming Kadsey either helped him cope with not being real or that hadn't happened yet, hmmmm that IS interesting! So this isn't something I've pondered so I hope it's not too out of character but I don't think Ashton would fall in love with the Tester, I think he'd be more curious about the real world and want to find a way for you all to get together platonically. But like I said that's just off the top of my head. I imagine Ash would be very loyal. Thank you again for liking my game!! I am so incredibly proud of it!!
I was thinking about what you said about DDLC and yeah you're right, there really aren't that many VN characters who are THAT self aware, it's actually one of my fav things to see in a VN. (a bit of espoir lore but when I played DDLC on my own i was completely home alone in the dead of night and Monika said my full government name and I actually had to walk away from my computer and stand in the hallway to recover. I LOVED that feeling and wanted Ashton to do the same thing)
I wanted Ashton to also kind of apologize for what he did because it was kind of "not cool". At the time he saw his "friends" as just other game characters but after watching the player's dates with them in Reboot, he sees them in a better light and feels guilty. It probably wouldn't be a happy ending if Ashton STAYED as yandere as he did and i love happy endings! (because the game that inspired him will probably NOT have a happy ending!)
Hmm canon things about the boys? This I have actually pondered about for fun!
One rule I tried to keep is that technically Ashton is the only yandere character and the only one who truly loves the Tester. The others either see them as a close friend, or platonic buddy (although Kadsey does develop a crush on them). Also there is only one tester in the story, so there wouldn't be multiple Ashton's out there. Kadsey is definitely in love with Ashton, the reason being Ashton doesn't treat Kadsey superficially, that is take his hyper-ness and cheerfulness for granted...like Ashino does. I think I hint at this but Ashton is very honest and blunt with Kadsey while Ashino is very shallow with Kadsey, but I think once he overcomes that Kadsey will hate him less (someday!)
Oh one of my favorite cannons is that Vincent and Ashton bond over thrift stores and macabre things, both love horror movies and spooky things.
Oh another of my favorite (head?)cannons is that both Ashton and Ashino love 80s anime but where Ashton loves the more horror stuff like Lily Cat and Akira, Ashino loves stuff like Ranma1/2 and Creamy Mami! Both "Ashtons" are similar but in different ways♥

Sometimes the questions in the test are a tie breaker if you have the same amount of points with 2 guys, however it does that even if 2 guys have 1 point and I don't know how to fix that, but I kind of enjoy it the way it is.
I figured there would be times when he says someone's user name instead of their real name because it's actually a smart idea to NOT have your system be your full name, haha. I also felt really bad when I heard that Ash deadnamed someone at some point so I added in the first game a chance to avoid that, and in the sequel he asks for your permission first (I don't remember if that part is in the demo yet...).
DDLC was made with Ren'py and I've been trying to learn it a little, but that developer also had a lot of coding knowledge so they knew how to code things like that. I'm more used to RPG Maker and can easily find codes to drag and drop into it. BUT someday I would like to make a ren'py game as meta as PPB!
lol I hope it wasn't too shocking when Ashton punched him, but Ashton in my head very very upset that Kadsey literally killed the love of his life. Kadsey forgives him though (he doesn't entirely regret trying to kill the player, he only guessed you'd survive, he's a little stinker).
Much like how they view Kadsey i imagine Green Ashton sees the language of flowers on a deeper level while Ashino/Red Ashton is more on a superficial level. Red Ashton would give you roses because they're pretty and traditional while green Ashton would give them because he's passionate. But that's not all bad on Red Ashton's part (trying to defend this clown), Ashino enjoys things for the way they appear instead of overthinking. But oh that reminds me of one more canon thing, Kadsey actually has a college degree in Florestry enjoys working with flowers!
I think Ashino would ADORE Ouran Host Club, truly I can only put into my characters what I know and he loves relationship animes, magical girl animes, and anything just wholesome and cute. I had to look up what Gakuen Handsome was and...from what little research I just did I think he'd hate it at first but then he'd love it to the point of trying to get others to watch it (only John would, when it comes to anime John likes ridiculous animes like Nichijou, where it's pure comedy and cuteness). Maybe I need to check this show out, it sounds good!
I can answer both those questions actually, Ashton is kinda freaky because the game and character he was inspired by was from an erotic VN called "Your Boyfriend". It's a little controversial and very adult and I didn't want my game to be THAT adult but still wanted to have a tiny bit of spice to it. At the time Ash was getting a little too delusional, I also left it up to the players imagination as to what he was saying.
The character that inspired Ash would be Peter from "Your Boyfriend", Peter is technically my firt VN yandere, I've never seen a male character that's already SO MUCH in love with the player and would murder the other characters. Back in my day (old lady voice) most yanderes were female and very similar to Monika, but the main reason I made this game was to make a similar character to Peter for people to enjoy as a comfort character. And Ashton HATES that, he hates Peter, and even says "do you know how hard it is to eat with teeth like this?!" Poor baby. But also Ashton is a bunch of things I personally love, he's a heavier/fatty guy which you really don't see a lot of, and he's a big nerd with a soft spot, with my favorite color of eyes♥ He's actually way more similar to Underfell Sans from fan stories of Undertale whom I love very much. I would joke that Ash's "father" isn't actually Peter but Underfell Sans and thus his last name became "Fell"♫♪
Yes Vincent cross-dresses. Despite always talking about "the code of the gentleman" he's very comfortable wearing women's clothes for their elegance, maneuverability, and fashion. The line about the heels he's embarrassed about because they are only for fashion. Rats? Does Vincent like rats? Hmm, I would say no only because "all animals except rabbits" frighten him. You could probably get him to tolerate a domesticated rat (i personally LOVE domesticated rats♥♥♥).
Oh ok, then I think that's at the very, VERY end near the final scenes, it's very heartwarming♥♥♥
