This is a fun idea! Normally, when you play as a clown, you're an evil clown, so being on the 'good side' per se was refreshing. Trying to dodge the evil clowns as they manoeuvred past me was a good mechanic, and I think there's a lot more that could be done with it! As the game's endless and progression is just more clowns, maybe a score, additional powerups, or enemies could spice it up for a more lasting arcade-y experience.
Gotta say I love the graphics too, which are done very well. Definitely sidesteps the awkward pixel look - I think the clowns, balloons and background fair scenery is done very cleanly. Maybe a background sprites with more of a parallax effect could be the way to go to avoid backgrounds that are a bit empty?
Thanks for clowning around and submitting CURE THE CURSED CLOWNS to the HONK JAM!
