How did you get it to launch in steam? It's not supposed to do that.

that’s how I’ve been playing it this whole time I use one of the proton packs to force its comparability as I do with alot of games I download away from steam

I just download to windows version add it to steam and use the proton compatibility pack

I see. I'm not sure if I can really help with that then. I don't know what proton packs are, or how they work, and I'm not really sure what would suddenly cause that to not work. Could plugins interfere with that?

honestly I’m not sure myself this isn’t first time a build didn’t work with proton packs

So other builds on Crossdressing in Camelot have not worked, but some of them do? Or other builds of other games have not worked? Do you always download it to the same spot on your pc?

For your game most builds have worked I may just need to change which proton pack I use and for other games it all depends on the engine and I actually play it on my steam deck

and yes I will download current build to download folder unpack it then transfer everything over to my memory card on steam deck and generally it works fine but with this newest build nothing seemed to work to make the game actually show up on screen like on steam bar it would show it running but I’d get no visuals or anything and I fully deleted game with current save and everything and started fresh and still nothing

Oh this is to run it on a steam deck? That makes so much more sense, I did not understand why you wanted it to run through steam. Steam deck's run off of Linux, don't they? Could you just download the Linux version of the game and run it on there? If not, could the issue be caused by a new version of protonDB? I know you said it's happened before, but if protonDB has updated since you last played the game, maybe that could have caused an issue?

oh yeah I shoulda mentioned I’m running it on a steam deck lol. And yes it does run off Linux and I did try to download the Linux version but even still it would show running but never actually pull up the game and that’s with me having totally deleted the game and started fresh and it’s possible as I’ve not checked when protondb last updated

I have tried to download the Linux version and it said something was missing and wouldn’t allow me to even add it to steam last time I tried

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't see the notification for several comments on here. If you still want to try and troubleshoot this, do you have the last version of Crossdressing in Camelot that worked downloaded on your steam deck still? Or do you know what version that was? Double checking that the old version still works would confirm if the issue is being caused by a change in the game from the update, or if it's from a change to the steam deck itself. I have several download folders for older versions of the game available on TfGamesSite, so I'll post that here if you want to try any of them. https://tfgames.site/?module=viewgame&id=1919
