I tried out your demo for a few minutes. Managed to crash the Playdate when I encountered the two bats I was trying to fight. Looks like the character and a bat were overlapping the same tile at times.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback! Yes, I found that sometimes the game can crash after death :( I will try to figure out what is going wrong.
Combat system is not perfect and yes the character takes damage when the player overlaps the enemy. So for now it is better to attack the enemy when the tile of enemy stands close to the player tile.
I have just uploaded a new version of demo and you can try it.
