There's a browser version of the game?

To remedy your problem, you should load the "To be continued" save and rollback (by using the mousewheel or hitting Page Up or Page Down). If you get back to a regular scene at the end of Day 143 you should save your game again and proceed from that point onward.

it didn't work, it still went to the ''to be continued'' screen :(

FYI I believe that when a third party adds a browser package to play desktop games, it does not save in the same place.

I am guessing you have to start over when switching from browser to downloaded.

I think a third-party likely created that browser version. From what I remember saves are not stored as files, but in the localstorage of the browser. So as Deckardz2019 says, you'll have to start over on the desktop, I think.
