How does the Pressure Point come into play? I see the rules about what it represents and how it changes, but what does it affect?

I understood Pressure Point (X) to be the number for the Oracle that you try to roll under. An X of 6 is harder to roll under with a d20 then an X of 10. This basically makes it a 'Chaos Factor lite' if you know Mythic.
