uh. what. huh. i'm sorry? how did you manage to make something THIS good in under like three minutes???
i'm seriously floored at how concise you managed to make this, and still making it super interesting?? the writing was amazing throughout: the start was really elegant and abstract, making you intrigued by how much the song means to the protagonist; the small encounters felt very foreboding, both giving off the vibe of a fairytale and making you increasingly suspicious of what's actually making the sounds; and the ending was a really cool way to do worldbuilding and give exposition as to what happened. it was all so good, and it's a real feat how much you end up caring about the story considering how simple it is.
the art was really good! i know there wasn't much but the various animals and especially the main character's sprite were pretty neat. (SPOILERS) loved the ending where the character sprites fade into one another, loved the way the entire sea turns red, and loved the blur effects in the newspapers! (tho in some parts you were able to read the template text, but that's just a nitpick)
this is probably a really long comment for such a short game haha, but i'm legit impressed with the quality and conciseness of this! great job!! :D
