Thank u so much for taking the time checking the game out Palarus! I feel very humbled by your verdict regarding the gameplay and aesthetics! πβ¨
When it comes to the anticapitalist themes they are most prevalent on the second level through environmental and level mechanical storytelling. I donβt know if it may be to obtuse for ppl to notice haha..
Vaporwave is inherently discussing capitalism through its imagery and soundscapes, and it is something I am trying to utilize thru the game as well. Not just as a visual style. The second level mixes western human civilisation from ancient Greece and 21th century environment and its ideas of infinite growt, and is aiming to portray aspects about launching a career via game mechanics such as the Launch pads and Monopoly Cannon. There is also a room inside the right skyscraper where I take the oppourtunity to poke fun at a certain big video game conglomerate. π
