I'm not sure what 2D mechanic this was based off, so I would love to know.

I can see this becoming something with a little more work. I think my main critique is how aiming the enemies bullet is controlled. If you allowed the player to view where they are aiming, you could do wonders with chaining shot jumps to destroy ships. I know as it is you just need to attach to a bullet to be able to do damage, but you can build on that and make it become a combo building slow motion game.
