The atmosphere of the game is very dark and sinister but the character and trail really work there. The controls are very smooth too, fantastic work!
You can still work on the game and I'd love to come back to it once you've developed it a bit more.
If you have time, I'd love if you tried my game.
Thanks a lot! I wish we could've polished the game further but I'm glad you liked it. We probably won't continue on developing but it was a good learning experience. I played your game and really enjoyed it. You can see my review on the submission page.
Hmm, so from my understanding there are barriers that disappear when you kill yourself on certain spikes? I think including some more information in-game about how it works would help greatly. The live/die markers are a start, but they don't do enough to tell me why I'd want to die. I enjoyed the movement of the ball as well as the trail it left behind. The dark atmosphere made the trail stand out very nicely. Side note, I didn't see the menu you have as your second screenshot in game. I completed two levels and it put me back to the title screen. Is there something I missed?
Thanks a lot for the review. First of all, no you didn't miss anything. We were just able to make 2 levels and the second Screenshot is from an old version. I thought about doing a description on how to play the game but we thought that part of the game is figuring out that for example you need to die in order to progress. But you're right that the markers alone don't really say much. At the end of the jam we rushed into making the game playable so we ended up leaving some important details out. I hope you still enjoyed the game :)
