Intermediate

Please explain why your team qualifies for the category you chose.
I have joined fewer than 3 <1week game jams in my life.

How does your game relate to the theme?
You play as a charming charm quark (a flavour of quark) that lives in a proton. You have the ability to charm other quarks and you can gain charms to improve your skills. Your goal is to make the proton into the charming civilization it used to be. And at some point in the game it may play charming music. There are charming cutscenes, but those may or may not be completely broken.

This game is really fun, well done! The character designs are adorable and the movement feels really smooth. Pushing the various quarks around is a nice mechanic and it works really well. They all have something fun to say too.

I managed to complete the game after a bit of trial and error, but I got the "sub optimal" end because I couldn't stop myself from shooting the little star quark that told me how to shoot things. I had a lot of fun with it though. The soundtrack suits it well too. My one suggestion would be making some sort of quest tracker, so that the player can see how many quarks they still need to bring together, and how many to destroy. Otherwise, players might be left wondering the map for a good while before they figure out what to do next.

If you don't mind, I would really appreciate it if you could check my game out as well :)

Thanks! TBH I'm surprised you were able to win, since it was untested in it's final version XD

Cool game! Death is a little too punishing I think, since the game feels less like a shooter and more like an interactive sort of story game. Also, I think the ability to talk should be made more clear and also have a larger radius, for example showing text above the quark that says "press X to talk"; On my first playthrough I didn't realize the ability was to talk to other quarks, and I just went around killing everybody :P So I think this should be a more highlighted feature since its pretty important to the gameplay. I couldn't figure out how to kill the group of frog quarks, so I never managed to complete the game but I think it is a pretty cool game :)

The charming cutscenes aren't completely broken! And the little star quark is my new best friend.
