Are you participating in the Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced category?

Advanced

Please explain why your team qualifies for the category you chose.
N/A

How does your game relate to the theme?
The game makes use of the theme, Charm, in three ways

First, the player collects a charm to empower himself with an ability (control of man-made serpents).

Second, the player charms, or controls, the snake-like creature. The game will have the player move mad-made serpents to advance through the level.

Lastly, the word Charm is made into the recursive acronym, C.H.A.R.M.S. (Charms that Handle the ARrangement of Man-made Serpents), which itself refers the the first two uses of the theme.

Specify any and all pre-made assets in your submission.
The following are pre-made sfx assets used for the game jam. The same is also posted on the itch.io page.

- "Whoosh Puff" sfx by Speedenza (freesound.org)

- "Fantasy game sound, positive hit" by ZapSplat (zapsplat.com)

- "Fun family game tone, positive sound 1" by ZapSplat (zapsplat.com)

- "Classic retro game jump tone 6" by ZapSplat (zapsplat.com)

- "Collect several coins at once, synthesized game tone 1" by ZapSplat (zapsplat.com)

The recursive acronym really feel forced (that's the point I get it), but I don't think you had to do that since your interpretation of the theme seems good and clear enough IMO.

Otherwise, that was surprisingly good, so good that I want you to burn a bunch of my brain cell with more complex and sophisticated puzzles, why not some emergent puzzle design with multiples possibilities like in Portal for example ?

Developer

Glad you came by to check out my game.

The gameplay idea actually popped up after thinking of a different acronym with a different game idea (which didn't really go anywhere) and changing it to what it is now. But, I understand and will consider what you say. I will also consider the idea of more complex puzzles.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback.

The artstyle is really good and the game feels so polished. One thing that it could use is coyote jump off of ledges but that isn't game breaker at all. The snake mechanic is really well designed too.

Developer

Thank you.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. And, I will consider coyote jumps in the future.

Thanks for playing and the feedback.
