A very good, very pretty meter-management advice sim. The first immediate standout for this game is the absolutely stunning background art. Though it wasn't an important part of the game, it was a REALLY appealing detail. I also like the little character, and how they quite literally "transition" to a cuter sprite as the game goes along. I love the music track as well.
The mechanics are well laid out, and even the dialogue options are color-coded. You have to focus on keeping your friend's mental state remains positive, and keep their stress levels as low as possible. However, reducing their stress takes a lot of your energy, so you have to be careful not to drain it before being faced with important decisions.
The writing felt pretty realistic and good, and by the end, everything worked together to give a valuable message that I'm sure plenty of people need to hear at one point. I can't think of any real criticisms or nitpicks with this one.
Interesting game! Overall, I really liked this game's artstyle, soundtrack and concept, especially the stress and energy meters - a good mechanic to show how some options are sometimes less viable, despite good intentions.
I guess my only criticism are the caution and knowledge meters, as I didn't quite understand their impact. Were they mostly a mood indicator, instead of a gameplay resource?
All the meters were originally designed as mood indicators, with the original concept being Tamagotchi inspired. They effect the "endings" by getting extra messages from the friend at the end of the game, depending on how high certain meters ended up. Definitely could've used better indication for these things though, I agree. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
