Our games share a lot of similarities. I think you ran into some of the same problems I did with the NavMesh system. I noticed your map went off the screen on occasion, a simple cinemachine targeted camera on your player would help with that. Check out "no candy!" if you get a chance. Would love to hear what you think.
I thought this was a great entry with lots of potential - the interpretation of the theme was great, and with a bit more work (like the guards having a field of view, maybe) it could be a really fun little game. Enjoyed playing, thank you so much for participating!
thankyou so much for playing
The game mechanics are quite simple but engaging but a problem with the prisoners is that, when it is too far from the player, it goes away instead of following the player. This can be frustrating since on the 5th level I have 3-4 prisoners to carry but they keep going away from me because another prisoner is in front of them. The theme is very creative and it relates really well to "follow the leader" while also integrating it into the mechanics. The visual design is simple and quite lacking, maybe a bit more details and also a bit more visual difference between the player and the prisoner would make it better and perhaps some animations as well! The audio design has music but there's nothing much other than music, maybe an indicator audio like a short "ding" when collecting a prisoner or an indicator of when the player gets caught through audio would make it way better! Overall, really interesting game with an interesting premise! Great job!
Thank you so much for playing , I made this in a short period of time, I was not sure i could finish the jam due to a family emergency. The prisoner thing that i made it like that is for showing the children , Hard to manage them in tough times. I really wished to animate and bring good audio design ,I would improve it next time. Thank you so much for playing I learned many things from the jam.
Ahh sorry to hear that! Hey, you submitted a solid game though despite the circumstances!
