Is there a win-state, actually? After the 5th (maybe 6th) target I gave up the search. Of course, given the theme (and game description) it would have been very helpful to mention that there is more than one target to be found in the first place. The disorienting space (given the constantly moving blocks) adds to that confusion. Could have been interesting to make the player more dependant of the “Nite lights” by not making them emit light as well, and maybe add a re-charging mechanic to the summoning of the lights.

Developer

Ah sorry, no there is no win state. I’ll add that to the game page.

Good ideas. I think the quickest fix would have to be just to have a lot of targets and a score counter, but I really didn’t want to go over the 3 hours given I was already so close to something playable.

I originally envisioned this a sort of echo-location game … I guess I just forgot at some point during development that the player shouldn’t light up as well (since that was what I initially used to test with).

Cool ! i like the use of lights and the other sources of light that disperse !
At first i didnt knew what i should do, i was looking around aimelessly till i found a target, only then i understood that maybe i should connect them.
So a small hint at the start as to what the player should do, will help.
Also some Background music also will bring the game to life.
And finally some score and visual feedback will go a long way.

But i understand that its made in 3h so great job !

Ah, so maybe I should have made the first target start off right next to the player. I/my games often struggle with tutorialization.

You dont have to put the first target near the player, just let him know that his goal is to collect them.
But yeah that might work as a solution

Very cool game, It's a cool idea to throw lights everywhere. The only thing I would change is the movement speed, it just feels a little slow to me. But overall really cool idea and pretty cool game. Good job!

Developer

Good point. I didn’t think about the movement speed once I got it quicker than a crawl.

Cool Concept , i like the concept of lights .
Maybe some visuals feebacks would improve  the experience , something like number of targets collected etc

Developer

something like number of targets collected etc

If I’d had just two minutes more, that’s exactly what I would have implemented :-D

Very interesting idea, maybe I miss some music or score, but overall a great game to be done in three hours!!

I often like to do everything myself … but making a passable song takes me an hour. Maybe I’ll finally use pre-made next time I join the jam :-)
